West Coast Engineering became fed up with counterfeiting about 13 years ago, and became a founding member of the Electronics Resellers Association International (ERAI). This organization was created to help buyers and sellers of electronic components in making wise business decisions. They foresaw the need to unite and share data by recognizing this niche, and rapidly pioneered a service completely unique for the independent distribution community.

The need for the services offered by ERAI has grown exponentially, fueled largely by the increased number of counterfeit and substandard electronic components exported from China and elsewhere around the world in addition to a difficult economic climate. ERAI and West Coast Engineering are leading the fight against the sale of counterfeit components and is promoting a higher level of quality and awareness via data-sharing, education, training and networking.
